We are greatly sorrowed by  the recent passing of Norman E. Jones, M.D. who was our attending physician. The Roswell office his personal dream; regretfully, we are closing the Roswell office and relocating all services to Dahlonega, about 45 minute to the north up GA-400. Norm was our mentor and leader, and he will be greatly missed by all of us. In our last conversation he urged us to "keep the office open."

Integrative medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit). It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of both conventional and alternative ways of healing, using both allopathic western medicine and natural, alternative medicine. The main principles of Integrative Medicine include:

  • An active, committed partnership between patient and practitioner in the healing process
  • Appropriate use of conventional and alternative methods to facilitate the body’s own healing response
  • Consideration of the myriad factors that influence health, wellness and disease including mind, spirit and community
  • A philosophy that neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative therapies without clear evidence
  • Recognition that good medicine is based in good science, is inquiry driven, and is open to new paradigms
  • Use of natural, effective, less-invasive interventions whenever possible
  • Use of the broader concepts of promotion of health to emphasize the prevention of illness, as well as the treatment of disease.

When your doctor treats the only the symptom and not the cause it is like removing the battery from your blaring smoke alarm and saying everything is fine now the alarm is not going off. Your provider has to know how to look for the cause the alarm (symptom). At Whole Body Medical we know how to look for and treat the cause, not just the symptom, often with simple diet and natural supplements rather than prescription medications. And as licensed MDs and PAs, we can prescribe pharmaceuticals and laboratory testing when indicated and needed, something chiropractors and naturopaths (called doctors, too) cannot do. Get the best of both worlds at Whole Body Medical.
